African Language Association of Southern Africa (ALASA)
ALASA was established in 1979 as a non-discriminatory, non-profit-making Association at a conference hosted by the Department of African Languages of the University of South Africa (UNISA).
ALASA has two main aims:
1. to promote interaction between researchers, students and teachers of African languages and literature, and
2. to assist in the promotion of research, language development and effective verbal and written communication in a multilingual society, for example, in matters relating to language planning and policy, education policy and liaison with other organisations with similar interests.

The Association of British Language Schools (ABLS)
Stands for diversity and choice in English language provision. Fights, and continues fighting, very hard to ensure that students wishing to come to England are made fully aware of the truly wide range of quality providers available to them. ABLS members are recognised by the UK authorities in exactly the same way as providers connected to the British Council.

Linguistic Society of America
The Linguistic Society of America (LSA) was founded in 1924 to advance the scientific study of language. Linguistics has developed dramatically in the intervening years, greatly expanding the understanding of human language.
LSA is the largest linguistic society in the world and welcomes linguists of all kinds. It is the only umbrella professional linguistics organization in the US, with over 5,000 individual and library members.
